Perched atop a scenic hilltop in Abha, Saudi Arabia, the Abha Hotel posed a unique architectural challenge: how to integrate a luxury hospitality experience into a dramatic landscape without disrupting the site’s natural beauty. With breathtaking views of the city and rolling hills, the location offered incredible potential—yet required a thoughtful approach to accessibility, functionality, and guest experience.
In collaboration with Architects Orange (AO), we designed a solution that seamlessly blends modern hospitality with the landscape’s natural contours. By carving into the upper plateau, we introduced subterranean parking and service access, preserving the hill’s aesthetic integrity while optimizing guest convenience. This approach not only ensured smooth vehicle circulation but also allowed for the creation of elevated terraces that serve as dynamic spaces for guest amenities, outdoor experiences, and panoramic viewpoints.
To further enhance the hotel’s role as a key destination in Saudi Arabia’s growing tourism industry, we incorporated food & beverage (F&B) venues and retail spaces, creating a hub where guests and locals can engage in a vibrant, community-driven experience. Every element of the design—from spatial planning to material selection—was crafted to reflect a modern yet contextually respectful approach to Saudi Arabian hospitality architecture.
The completed Abha Hotel is more than a luxury stay—it’s a landmark destination that elevates hospitality standards in Saudi Arabia. With unobstructed city and mountain views, seamless integration of guest and service areas, and a rich blend of hotel, retail, and entertainment offerings, the project successfully redefines the guest experience in Abha.
